Portfolio: Brand Identity Design for Kirsty Su Photography
Kirsty Su is a destination lifestyle & wedding photographer based in the San Francisco Bay Area who’s always up for an adventure.
Why I'm excited about sharing this project
Kirsty is someone I met through Rising Tide Society’s Tuesday Togethers in San Jose. After months of meeting each other, we finally got together for coffee one afternoon and our friendship started to grow from there.
Not only is she extremely talented and knowledgable, but she makes sure you’re having fun while being photographed too!
One of my absolute favorite things is listening to people’s stories - why they are the way they are, why they started their business, what their purpose and dreams are, how they want to show up in the world, etc.
I love working with photographers, because their photos tell a story.
And what I love to do is use branding help them tell a story to their dream clients.
Kirsty wanted her brand to feel genuine, youthful, approachable yet professional. To empower women in an inviting and energetic way.
Her brand mission is to provide a personalized service to women in need of storytelling — whether they’re looking for a portrait, lifestyle, couples, or wedding photoshoot.
She believes in being a “People First” photographer, which means putting her clients first and serving them.
With that being said, she’s genuinely interested in hearing her clients’ stories and getting to know them on a deeper level. Her goal is adapt to the individual(s) she’s shooting to make sure that they have the best experience.
her client experience — welcome letter
Branding is all about creating experiences for your ideal clients.
And by having a welcome letter, Kirsty is able to connect with her clients on a deeper level while ensuring they have all the information they need in regards to pricing, package details, frequently asked questions, etc.
It sends a message to your clients that you’re a professional who’s providing a one-of-a-kind experience.
“Working with Molly has been great, as it has allowed me to dive deep into trying to figure out who I am as an artist and the various aspects that should be considered before building your aesthetic brand.
It was important for me to feel that I connected with a brand and graphic designer. I appreciated being able to have a discovery call for us to chat and talk about ourselves and our businesses to see whether we thought professionally we would work well together.
The branding questionnaire Molly sent really helped me become more focused in creating an experience within my business that is aimed at my ideal client.
I appreciated the fact that Molly was patient with me while I figured out my preferences with fonts, colors, etc.
This took me a bit of time and Molly never made me feel guilty about sometimes being unsure or taking a bit longer to decide.
I am excited about the graphics designed and feel it has elevated my brand.
