I always tell people: “You can change your life at any moment”.
But can you really?
Yes, but the truth is.. it isn't easy.
Most people give up before getting “there”.
I know I have. I’ve given up a lot of times, so I’m not going to sugarcoat it and tell you it’s easy or that I have it all figured out.
But here’s what I do know: It’s possible. And yes, it’s possible for you too.
Not only do you have to believe in yourself, but you have to be ready to show up and do the work too.
The inner work. The outer work. All of it. Everything in-between.
Even when it feels hard. Even when it feels scary. Even when watching a Netflix show sounds more appealing.
Because what it really comes down to is consistency and resilient.
Can I tell you a secret?
Sometimes, I feel like I’m failing -- with everything. And more often than not, I’ll keep it to myself because I don’t want other people to think I’m complaining or ungrateful.
But the truth is you have to be patient with yourself.
Patient, kind, and be willing to accept that there’s still a long way to go.
No matter where you are in your journey, there’s always going to be room for improvement.
You don’t have to be the same person you’ve spent the last two decades being.
Because yes, you really can change your life at any moment.
It starts with a decision. A decision to change, but it’s a decision only you yourself can make.
No one else can make it for you, or do the work for you. (And that’s been a hard lesson for me to learn.)
Every morning when you wake up, you have to be willing to show up for yourself. You have to choose yourself, again and again.
You have to believe your life is worth changing, because it is and because you are.
It doesn’t matter how many times you “fail” as long as you keep going, because every failure is an opportunity to grow. Instead of dwelling on the mistakes you’ve made, ask yourself how you can do better and then actually do better.
At the end of the day, you can read all the books, listen to all the podcasts, and watch all the videos, but you have to actually do. Ideas without action are just ideas, and ideas alone aren’t going to change your life.
So take action.
Be ready to learn, willing to fail, and open to doing it all over again until you learn the lessons you’re supposed to.
Your life changes one step at a time, not all at once.
